If you can’t change the people …. change the people

I’ve recently been involved in a campaign intended to raise the profile of a certain much-maligned career so that graduates and career movers might consider it – and thus enhance and grow the profession. The campaign used a realtively risky headline which has come under some fire.

What amazes me isn’t the criticism of the campaign strapline when taken out of context. Anyone can throw those rocks. It’s the level of malice, vitriol and dare I say amount of time some critics must have on their hands to engage in the criticism itself. Several of the more supportive comments highlighted this – i.e. “The campaign is a positive step and got me interested but if these are the kind of venomous, narrow-minded folks who work in the industry count me out!”

If you can’t change your people, change your people.
